You may even already know some of us. We live, work, and play right here in the Picayune community. That’s why the clinic atmosphere is so warm and friendly! It is too bad you’re injured, but we are glad we can help you with your recovery.

Ernie Landrum, Owner, MPT

Ernie is a lifelong resident of Picayune/Pearl River county, except for a couple stops along the way for athletics and school. He’s married to Laura Anne Landrum and is the father of two children, Sam and Sydney.

Ernie graduated from Picayune Memorial High school in 1995 and attended Meridian community college on a baseball scholarship. After a brief stop at PRCC, he continued his education at Southern Miss where he received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology in 1999.

Following USM, he began the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of Mississippi, graduating in 2002.

He and his wife returned to Picayune upon graduation, and he began working in his hometown community. In 2003, after just one year working at the local hospital, he was lucky enough to join a private practice. Over 20 years later, here he is! He is right here at Picayune Physical Therapy Center, striving to provide the best care for each patient every day!


Jana Burge, PT, DPT

Jana was born and raised in Pearl River County. She graduated from Picayune Memorial High School in 2013. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiotherapy in 2017. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from William Carey University in 2020.

Jana and her husband, Chase, have one son, Lucas. Outside of working, Jana enjoys spending time with family, playing with her dog, Annie, and playing tennis.


Emily Randall, PT, DPT, OCS

Emily grew up in Pearl River County, graduating from PRC High School in 2002. She received her B.S. in Psychology from University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. Emily graduated from Belmont University (Nashville, TN) in 2009 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has been practicing physical therapy for more than 14 years now.

Emily is excited to always be learning. Within her practicing years, she earned her Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2014.

Emily enjoys serving South Mississippi while she strives to continually learn new skills and develop as a PT. She has a dynamic approach to treating each patient with love and care.

Emily and her husband, Robbie Randall, have three children. They enjoy spending their time together while being active outdoors. They attend St. Matthews Catholic Church in Perkinston, MS. Emily’s favorite things include family fun, reading, coffee, boating, and exercise.


Bridget Deschamp, PTA

Bridget is one of the PTAs here at Picayune Physical Therapy Center. She is originally from Poplarville, MS and still resides there with her husband and two children. She graduated from Poplarville High School in 2006 and furthered her education by graduating from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Pearl River Community College in 2011. Bridget has been employed at PPTC since June of 2011.

Her journey with Physical Therapy first began after she injured her knee playing softball in high school. After several surgeries and months of PT she was able to return to playing softball and continued through college. Through it all, she considers it a blessing in disguise because it led her to this career. Bridget and her family attend church at Bethel Baptist Church in Poplarville. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones.


Nikki Collier, PTA

Nikki was born and raised In Pearl River County. She attended Pearl River Community College, where she completed her degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 2022.

Nikki and her husband, Zac, have 5 children together. They are members of Resurrection Life Church in Picayune. Outside of working, Nikki enjoys spending time with her family, and watching her kids play sports.


Austin Slade, PTA

Austin grew up in Poplarville, Ms where he attended high school and played soccer. Austin attended college at Pearl River Community College, where he completed his degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2015. Austin has worked at Picayune Physical Therapy Center since 2016.

Austin lives in Poplarville with his wife, Karly Slade, and their two boys. He is a member of Derby Baptist Church in Poplarville, MS. When Austin is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys watching sports, cooking, fishing and camping.


Karly Slade, COTA/L, Rehab Technician

Karly is a technician at Picayune Physical Therapy Center. She grew up in Poplarville, MS where she attended high school and played soccer. She attended college at Pearl River Community College, where she completed her degree as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in 2016.

Karly and her husband, Austin Slade, have 2 children. They enjoy camping, fishing, and playing outdoors. She is a member of Derby Baptist Church in Poplarville, MS where she teaches the children’s class. Some of Karly’s favorite things include family time, running, biking, and iced coffee.


Maverick Smith, CSCS, Rehab Technician

Maverick is a Rehab Technician here at Picayune Physical Therapy Center. He was born and raised in Poplarville, Ms., where he lives with his wife, Melanie and their two children. He completed his undergraduate studies at Central Baptist College in Conway, AR where he received a B.S. in Health Science in 2014. In 2020 he completed his Masters degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas.

Working in the clinical setting for the last seven years, he has devoted his life to preventing injury and increasing the overall performance of our athletes. In August he completed all requirements set forth by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). With this, Mavericks goal for the future is to bring a higher level of athletic performance to Pearl River County while promoting education, safety, and exercise techniques.


Beth Morel, Billing Coordinator

Beth is the Accounts Receivables/Billings Coordinator. She has been in the medical billing field for over 40 years, 34 years in Physical Therapy and the last 15 years with Picayune Physical Therapy Center. She feels blessed to be part of such an incredible team of professionals and she is especially proud of the quality care and attention that our patients receive.

When she’s not at work, Beth enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends, but most of all her grandchildren.


Cindy Sharkey, Receptionist

Cindy Sharkey, who is originally from the Gulf Coast made a short move to Picayune in 2003 with her husband and kids.

Cindy was actually a patient before becoming employed with Picayune Physical Therapy Center. She says as a patient she immediately felt the sincere care and concern for rehabilitation from the staff. It did not hurt that the treatment was done in such a friendly, positive, family-oriented environment.

Cindy began her employment with Picayune Physical Therapy in 2005. She started out as a tech, then one year later became the receptionist. She states “I work with a remarkable, impressive group of care givers and friends”. “It’s a privilege to witness how our patients get the total care they need and deserve”.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful family, especially her grandkids.
